Anyone else here a 2-wheeled friend?

This has been my project for the last 9 months or so.
I should probably get around to making a progress blog... But things are progressing quite well.

Ah, close.

I've got a CB450SC in my shed. I'm jealous of the chrome fender.

I own a little 125cc machine for tooling around at work. I used to have a Triumph Speed Four but sold it after I convinced myself that everyone on the road was actively trying to kill me.

In fact, I've got a CB500T that i'm cafe-ifying. Unfortunately mine needs its engine rebuilt, so I'm digging deeper into an engine than I have before. I got the goofy torsional valve springs out and now I just have to find an engine shop to bore out the cylinders and do a valve job.

What are your plans for yours?

Right now I have my dad's FZ6, but it might be time for greener pastures or expanding the herd. Unfortunately being 5'3" reaaaally cuts into one's sportbike options if you don't want a lowering link.

Nice!
Mine had so little parts to start with that Cafe-ing it was the best option. Finding all the OEM parts for a restoration would have been very expensive. But thats alright, i got the bike for $350. so chopping it up really isnt that big of a deal.

Ive only had mine running enough to do about 20 miles last fall. so im not sure what the engine has in store for me. its definitley leaking a little. But not sure how badly. Need to get it all back together and ride in the spring some more to really see how the engine is.

Ouch....
Yea 5'3" is probably tough to find something that fits. More manufacturers are offering options for smaller people now though. Moto Guzzi for one has different seat heights right from the factory. could be worth looking into.

Yea... Thats always in the back of your head.
Unfortunately i live in the city. so even more people are trying to kill you than normal...
Havent ridden for that long. so im hoping i can get around this.
Just starting to order all my safety gear to hopefully at least make the injuries less severe.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I've been able to manage on tiptoes after chopping out seat foam, raising forks, cranking the preload all the way up, and wearing boots all the time, but having both feet flat on the ground at a stop sign would be amazing!

I was living in Dallas and riding urban freeways. A lot of the people around me were more interested in 8 sq inches of glass in their hand than they were in the people around them on the road so I had to be hypervigilant as a rider. That will tire you out a LOT faster.
